Welcome to GetPassive Developer Docs

GetPassive helps approved app developers earn passive revenue from unused bandwidth on devices where their app is already installed. Integrate the SDK, disclose the feature inside your terms, pass review, and receive monthly payouts through Stripe Connect.

Who it is for

The current SDK is a Node.js package (Node 18 or newer). It fits server-side apps, desktop apps, set-top boxes, and other software that runs on devices with stable internet. Browser and React Native SDKs are planned.

Tiered earnings model

Developers earn from customer demand served by their approved app fleet, with rates set by country tier.

Consent model

The disclosure is bundled into your existing Terms and Conditions. No personal data, app content, browsing history, messages, contacts, or tracking data is collected.

How it works

  1. Sign in to the developer console at app.getpassive.io with a magic link.
  2. Create an app profile and generate a developer API key. New keys start in test mode.
  3. Install @getpassive/sdk from the GetPassive private npm registry and start the client with your developer API key.
  4. Run in test mode while you validate startup, status callbacks, and the SDK process lifecycle.
  5. Request live promotion. Live mode is enabled by an admin after review.
